Find Baltimore Food Trucks!

Picture
When the street food craze took Los Angeles and New York City by storm, Baltimore was quick to pick up on the exciting new trend and roll out a few of it’s own mobile food trucks. Excitement over food trucks spread quickly, and soon Baltimore had a large group of small business entrepreneurs hitting the streets daily, serving everything from gourmet burgers to cupcakes.

As the crowds of hungry Marylanders grew, a need for organization among the trucks became evident to address some of the impacts from this new food delivery concept, to ensure that our continued growth is a positive addition to the local economy and to communicate with local governments.

In February 2012, the Maryland Food Vending Association (MD MFVA) was established. Working primarily out of Baltimore City, the MD MFVA partners with food trucks who wish to serve on the streets of Baltimore City or within the surrounding Counties and Cities. All our mobile operations follow a code of conduct to respect and benefit local communities. For a small fee, trucks are able to access a network of support, the best local spots to park their truck, marketing and advertising, entrance to “The Gathering”, and many other member perks.

The MD MFVA is committed to working closely with government agencies on the state and local level and local communities to ensure that the food truck community is able to thrive and to better address the realities of this new industry while avoiding the restriction of out-dated and inapplicable rules to this novel and dynamic business model.

We invite anyone who operates a mobile food unit (a food truck, trailer, etc.) to join the MD MFVA! Please contact us for more information
